Mariam has taught piano to both my son (16) and daughter (14) for more than 5 years now. We absolutely LOVE Mariam! She is immensely patient, always cheerful, and she makes lessons fun! Through the years, she has gently challenged my children and they have progressed wonderfully. Students have the opportunity to perform in various festivals throughout the year as part of my affiliations with the Music Teachers National Association, Federation of Music Clubs, American College of Musicians (Piano Guild), and National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Hello! My name is Mariam Tsimpris McFalls, and I have taught private voice and piano lessons for the last 20 years. I moved to Austin in 2015 after maintaining a successful private music studio of 70 students in League City, Texas. In March 2022 I sold my house in Austin in preparation for a final move to my homeland in Greece. In September 2024, we found our forever home on the island of Crete. At this time I am retired from teaching, but you never know! Should I decide to continue teaching from this side of the pond, it will be virtual only and the goals stated below will be the same.

The goals of my studio are to provide a fun and musical environment to motivate the student to become the best musician they can be. Whether the goal is to learn the basic concepts of music theory, playing or singing for your own enjoyment, developing performance technique, public speaking, preparing for a music career through the college process, maintaining neuroplasticity, or generally feeling more confident – our time together will be spent developing these traits. My teaching style is a more collaborative approach, therefore, I tailor lessons to each student’s goals.

Recitals are conducted twice a year, as well as, participating in various Festivals, hosted by the local Texas Music Teachers Association and Texas Federation of Music Clubs. Additionally, Piano Guild Auditions are held in May. Participation is not mandatory, but allows the student to perform in a variety of environments.
